Goring Beach Clean 2018

Residents Cleaned Goring Beach Ready For Summer Visitors

A clean beach is good for the environment, wildlife and visitors. On Saturday June 2nd, over 60 volunteers, some with children to assist and a few with dogs, assembled on a misty Saturday morning. The aim was to clean the Goring beach between Sea Lane Cafe and George V Avenue.  This was the first time that Goring Residents' Association had organised such an event. Based on feedback from participants, we hope this will become a regular feature of GRA's annual programme of events.

Overall, participants were really pleased with the state of Goring Beach which is now even better!

Two days after the event we received this message from Councillor Edward Crouch.

"Dear Peter

I just wanted to thank you and your members for their hard work at the recent beach clean event.
As Cabinet Member with responsibility for waste, recycling and the environment, these community led initiatives are not only a great thing for our environment, but a brilliant way of bringing people together over a common cause.
Please pass my thanks on to your members."
